A 54-year-old Roseville man has been arraigned for allegedly killing his roommate.
It is alleged that on Wednesday, January 31, Mark Newsome got into a verbal altercation with his 72-year-old roommate that escalated into a physical altercation.
Newsome punched the victim, Dale Mitchell, in the head several times, according to the prosecutor’s office, and Mitchell died of his injuries.
Newsome is being charged with second degree murder.
He was arraigned last week in Roseville District Court where Judge Kathleen Tocco denied bond.
A probable cause hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, February 14 and a preliminary exam is scheduled for Wednesday, February 21 by District Court Judge Joseph Boedecker.
