Macomb County man arraigned on charges of setting fire to a mobile home

The Macomb County prosecutor’s office says Malcolm Underwood, 48, of Harrison Township has been charged with setting two fires last June in a mobile home where he was being evicted.

Underwood was recently extradited from New Year State. He is charged with arson of insured dwelling, second degree arson and preparation to burn a dwelling.

He was arraigned Wednesday in 41B Clinton Township District Court where Magistrate Ryan Zemke set bond at $50,000 cash/surety, no 10% and upon release he must wear a GPS tether.

He was also referred to Community Corrections. No further court date has been set at this time.

“Criminal actions, especially those that endanger the lives and properties of others, will not be tolerated,” said Prosecutor Peter Lucido. “The extradition of the defendant demonstrates our commitment to justice and safety in our community.”
