‘Evidence Boot Camp E’ scheduled by CDAM


The Criminal Defense Association of Michigan will present “Evidence Boot Camp E” on Thursday, March 7, from 9 a.m.  to 5 p.m. at the Auburn Hills Marriott in Pontiac.

This program offers hands-on small group skills training. Attendees do not have to take prior Boot Camps to attend this Boot Camp. Speaking at the training will be Steve Fenner and James Piazza who will focus on pretrial motions and motions in limine.

Cost for the training is $320 for CDAM members and $400 for non-members.  Continental breakfast, lunch, and materials are included.

Society to host St. Patrick’s Day brunch


The Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers (ISIAL) is thrilled to host its 26th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Brunch on Sunday, March 10, from 10 to 11:45 a.m. at Mario’s Restaurant in Detroit.

The event will feature Irish music presented by ISIAL’s very own Cahill & Murphy, as well as snappy commentary from MC Judge Michael Riordan.

A must-see to this year’s entertainment program will be appearances from the Queen of the Detroit United Irish Societies f/k/a Maid of Erin Court, the parade Grand Marshals Norm and Maureen Root, and dignitaries from Ireland.

Also expected to attend will be plenty of lawyers, judges, elected leaders, and dignitaries from the Detroit Irish-American community.

Tickets must be purchased in advance by Friday, March 8, and are priced at $40 for ISIAL members; $45 for non-members; $15 for children (under 12); $30 for law students. Adult brunches will be $50 at the door without advance reservation. (Reservations are held at the door, no tickets are issued.)

‘Erin Go Law’ networking event set
at Detroit Mercy Law


The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Alumni Association invites members of the legal community and Detroit Mercy Law students to attend its “Erin Go Law” networking reception on 

Thursday, March 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the atrium of Detroit Mercy Law in Detroit.

Guests will celebrate the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day while enjoying an evening of conversations with delicious Irish brew and fare.
