Macomb County man convicted in criminal sexual conduct case

A Macomb County jury on Monday convicted 66-year-old Dennis Peterson Sr. in two cases that were combined into one trial by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie Stager.

He was charged and found guilty on six counts of first-degree sexual conduct with a victim under 13 years old and one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The defendant is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in prison.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 29.

“We are gratified by the jury's unwavering commitment to justice in finding the defendant guilty on all counts in this criminal sexual conduct case. Their verdict sends a resounding message that such acts will not be tolerated in our society,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido.
