Michael Wooley joins Varnum as new partner



Immigration attorney Michael E. “Mike” Wooley has joined Varnum as its newest partner., based in the Grand Rapids office.

With more than 25 years of experience, Wooley has been a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and general counsel, providing strategic guidance on long-term immigration plans and immediate solutions for companies both in the United States and internationally. His arrival augments the firm’s robust immigration practice team, further solidifying Varnum’s ability to guide businesses and their executives through the complex immigration process.

Wooley’s experience spans various industries, with a particular focus on providing tailored immigration solutions to healthcare providers and systems.  In addition, he has a broad understanding of global immigration trends, enabling him to guide clients with international operations through the intricacies of cross-border mobility.

Wooley received his J.D. from the University of Michigan School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Central Michigan University.

Harris named American Bar Foundation Fellow


DeAndre’ Harris, a partner with Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Harris practices in Warner’s Grand Rapids office and focuses on labor and employment law.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan and Grand Rapids Bar Association, where he serves as a trustee.

He also serves on the board for Boys and Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids. He is a member of the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Grand Rapids Class of 2023 and was a member of the Chamber’s Emerging Leaders 2019 cohort.

Harris has been named to the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list for labor and employment law management since 2021 and was selected for the Lawyers of Color’s 2022 Hot List.

He holds a JD, magna cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law.
