Butzel attorney Beth S. Gotthelf will be a guest speaker during a NAATBatt Lithium Recycling Workshop on August 7 at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. Since her introduction to the Federation in 2012, DePriest has demonstrated a commitment to community service. She took on various leadership roles, served as a liaison to Jewish Family Service (JFS), where she now sits on the executive committee. Her roles have included serving on the NEXTGen Detroit Board, co-chairing leadership-development programs, and serving as NEXTGen Detroit Campaign Chair for four years. Varnum LLP is pleased to announce its acquisition of Young, Garcia & Quadrozzi (YGQ), a litigation boutique based in Southeast Michigan. YGQ’s leaders J. David Garcia and Jaye Quadrozzi will join the firm’s Birmingham office as partners, along with two business professionals.
For YGQ, originally founded by Detroit litigator Rodger Young, the decision to join Varnum was driven by a shared vision and complementary strengths.

Varnum’s addition of YGQ marks the latest development in the firm’s growth across Michigan and Florida. In the Birmingham office alone, client-led demand has resulted in expansion from seven attorneys upon launching in 2019 to 30 today.
Garcia handles numerous multimillion-dollar cases and has trial experience in state and federal courts and arbitration forums. He litigates cases involving contractual and partner/shareholder disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets and other intellectual property claims, accounting malpractice, and other complex commercial disputes. In his appellate practice, Garcia has argued before the Michigan Supreme Court, Michigan Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
In 2023, Garcia was named by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as a “Go To Lawyer” for business litigation. He graduated from the University of Michigan, with double-majors in economics and political science, and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School.
Quadrozzi is a trial lawyer with experience trying multimillion-dollar cases in federal and state courts across the country. Her practice includes complex commercial litigation in all areas of business disputes with a particular emphasis in intellectual property, including patent, trade secret, and copyright infringement. Among Quadrozzi’s cases, she represented Oakland County in the City of Detroit bankruptcy.
Quadrozzi is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and member of the Michigan, Illinois, and California state bars as well as numerous federal district and appellate courts. She serves on the boards of the Great Lakes Water Authority and the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority.
