The Back-to-School Blast, hosted by the Jackson First United Methodist Church, will be held 3 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 25, at the American 1 Credit Union Event Center, 128 W. Ganson St, Jackson.  This is the 11th year of the event.

The team is preparing to assist more than 1,250 students and their families with backpacks, basic school supplies, new and gently used books, socks and lunch.

At least 45 community agencies will join the Blast and share information about services and products they provide and many will also give away school supplies.
