Last September, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Zachary Zielonka, age 31, broke into the victim’s attached garage of her Richmond Twp. home.
Then, he set a vehicle on fire in the garage.
Zielonka was charged with second-degree arson and home invasion in the first degree.
On Tuesday, Gatti sentenced Zielonka to the Michigan Department of Corrections for 30 months to 20 years for both counts.
“Our community can rest a little easier knowing that such dangerous behavior will not be tolerated. We remain committed to upholding the law and protecting our citizens from such acts,” said Prosecutor Peter Lucido.
