‘Stomp Out Suicide’ event to be held Sept. 6

Stomp Out Suicide is a public event to raise awareness and raise funds for suicide prevention in Jackson County. Each year the event allows individuals to come together, honor lives lost, celebrate the strength of survivors, and support friends and families.

This event will be held from 6-9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6, at the Commonwealth Commerce Center, 209 E Washington Ave.

Guest speakers include Dr. Andrea Mata, PhD., who will explore the crucial role of family dynamics in suicide prevention; and Liz Baker, Community Engagement chair, board secretary, and Lansing Out of the Darkness Walk chair for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Michigan Chapter.

Activities include a luminary walk, passport booth, painting stones, guided meditation, and Letters of Hope.
