People for the Parks and Trails (PPT) and Experience Jackson donate bike repair station on MLK Equality Trail

Experience Jackson has joined forces with People for the Parks and Trails (PPT) to donate a bike repair station to the City of Jackson for use on the MLK Equality Trail.

The Dero Fixit Plus station has been installed at New Leaf Park, a small trailhead park located off Fourth Street along the MLK Equality Trail, and includes all tools necessary to perform basic biker repairs and maintenance.

PPT is a resident-led non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to improving park facilities in the City of Jackson through volunteer projects, advocacy and donations.

Each year, the group donates a new park feature; previous donations include trash cans and bike racks.

Experience Jackson sponsored PPT’s 2024 donation to help boost bicycle tourism.

The primary section of the 4-mile paved MLK Equality Trail network starts in Downtown Jackson, going through several south and west side residential neighborhoods before transitioning at Weatherwax Drive
in Summit Township, where the trail turns into Jackson County's Falling Waters Trail, which can be used to reach Lime Lake County Park and the Village of Concord.
