SBM Health Care Law Section conducts annual meeting Sept. 19

The State Bar of Michigan’s Health Care Law Section will conduct its annual meeting, “The Good, Bad, and Unknown: Navigating Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare,” on Thursday, September 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Andiamo, 6676 Telegraph Road, in Bloomfield Township.

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare is not just an innovation; it can be transformational. With AI's ability to analyze big data sets and support informed decision-making, it has the potential to dramatically improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiencies. However, the use of AI technologies in digital health presents a unique set of legal challenges and ethical considerations. This presentation aims to explore these challenges, focusing on privacy concerns, regulatory compliance, liability issues, and the ethical implications of AI decision-making in healthcare.

Speaking at the program will be:

• Andrea Linna, partner at Wilson Sonsini, Goodrich, & Rosati, where she is a members of the firm's digital health industry group and its healthcare practice.

• Lauren Willens, senior counsel for Henry Ford Health.
