Regional Behavioral Treatment Court to hold graduation ceremony

The 29th District Mental Health Court will host a graduation ceremony marking a significant milestone in the journey of individuals who have successfully completed the program. The event will take place on September 13 at the 29th District Court to celebrate the hard work, resilience, and dedication of the participants.

The Mental Health Court is a groundbreaking initiative that aims to provide an alternative approach to justice for individuals dealing with mental health challenges. Through a collaborative effort between the legal system, mental health professionals, and community support networks, the program focuses on rehabilitation and support rather than punitive measures.

During the graduation ceremony, attendees will have the opportunity to hear inspiring stories from program participants about their transformative experiences. Honored guests, including representatives from local government, mental health organizations, and the judiciary, will also be in attendance to commend the achievements of the graduates.

The event will feature a keynote speech from the Judge Breeda O’Leary as well as a video from Michigan’s Supreme Court Justice Kyra Bolden. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with program staff, graduates, and community partners, fostering a deeper understanding of the importance of mental health support within the justice system.
