Judge Kristen Simmons welcomes Cooley Law School’s newest law students

Incoming law students at Cooley Law School’s Lansing campus took part in orientation festivities, including reciting the Cooley Honor Code Oath, Aug. 26-28.

Cooley Law School welcomed incoming students during its Lansing campus orientation and Professionalism in Acton Program, which took place Aug. 26-28.

Judge Kristen Simmons, 54-A District Court and Cooley graduate, was the featured presenter and spoke to the new law students about integrity, professionalism, and ethics, and administered the Cooley Honor Code Oath.

“Please take the time to examine yourselves and make the changes necessary to ensure your actions uphold the ethical standards required of this profession,” said Simmons. “In order to graduate from Cooley, you have to put in some tough work. Cooley graduates enter the legal profession prepared, practice-ready, and are zealous advocates.”

Cooley’s Lansing campus incoming class includes 34 percent minority enrollment and 33 percent of students are coming from outside of Michigan.
