Nominations open for Rep Assembly awards
Each year the Rep Assembly, the final policy-making body of the State Bar, bestows two awards.
The Michael Franck Award honors a Michigan attorney for contributing to improving the legal profession. The Unsung Hero Award honors a Michigan attorney who exhibits the highest standards of practice and commitment to the benefit of others.
Nominees for the awards must be State Bar of Michigan members in good standing. The honors can be for contributions made in the past year or a cumulative effort over several years.

Ritz is a member of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. A former U.S. attorney, Ritz was confirmed to the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in September. He was nominated to the bench by President Joe Biden in March and succeeds Judge Julia Gibbons on the panel of 29 judges who hear appeals from federal district courts in Tennessee, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio.
