Webinar explores holistic approach to juvenile justice
The Michigan Judicial Institute and Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Services will present a webinar on “Building the Village, Part 1: A Holistic Approach” Friday, February 28, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.
Speaking at the webinar will be Lynda McGhee, co-executive director, Michigan Children’s Law Center; Judith New, education advocate, Michigan Children’s Law Center; and LaChetta Johnson, foster care worker and executive director, House of Kadence.
The speakers will discuss:
• The concept of creating a collaborative model to address children’s needs.
• Building a holistic team that provides tailored assistance from various professionals.
• Empowering children to thrive by providing the resources they need.
The intended audience for the webinar includes juvenile justice county implementation team members, judges, court administrators, juvenile probation officers and caseworkers, courts, law enforcement, school personnel, attorneys, social service providers, other juvenile justice stakeholders, and child welfare professionals.

WBA to volunteer at Forgotten Harvest
The Women’s Bar Association, Oakland County Region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, will conduct a volunteer event at Forgotten Harvest.
Volunteers can join the WBA at Forgotten Harvest on Saturday, February 22, from 9 a.m. to noon to give back to the community together.
