The Muskegon Lumberjacks have signed their declaration to compete in the USHL next season, their 15th season in the USHL.
MUSKEGON – Over the last several months, discussions have been circulating about the future of the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
The Jacks, along with the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League, were going to leave the league to join the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the 2025-26 season.
The reports were first reported during an intermission report during Hockey Night in Canada. Reports also stated that the OHL, a top-tier junior hockey league based largely in Canada, voted to accept both USHL franchises.
Shortly after the reports were made public, it was reported that USA Hockey was blocking the Lumberjacks and Phantoms from joining the OHL.
After some time since the report, it was made official that the Lumberjacks and Phantoms have both signed their declaration to compete in the USHL next season. That was confirmed by Lumberjack team officials.
