AG Nessel and Arizona attorney general launch ‘Pantsuits and Lawsuits’ podcast

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel have launched a podcast, “Pantsuits and Lawsuits.”.  

In each episode, they will break down complex legal topics in a way that is engaging, informative, and accessible to listeners. They will explore major legal cases, analyze state and national policy debates – and discuss how attorneys general help shape justice. Listeners will gain a behind-the-scenes look at the work attorneys general do to serve and protect their communities.

Episodes will feature special guests, including legal scholars, policymakers, and regular Arizonans and Michiganders, offering diverse perspectives on key legal challenges facing the states and the nation.

—Episode Summaries:  

• Episode 1 – About the Podcast: Join the AGs as they discuss their paths to become the chief legal officers of their states and why they decided to launch a podcast together.

• Episode 2 – Pig Butchering: The AGs expose the dangers of "pig butchering" scams that are targeting seniors in their states. They are joined by Alex Juarez and Mark Fetterhoff of AARP to discuss how people can recognize and protect themselves from fraudsters.

• Episode 3 – Birthright Citizenship: Fresh off their recent court victories temporarily blocking an unconstitutional executive order banning birthright citizenship, the  AGs delve into the history of birthright citizenship enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.

They are joined by Reyna Montoya of Aliento AZ and Susan Reed of the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center to discuss the real-world impact of these attacks on families in Michigan and Arizona.

Pantsuits and Lawsuits will be available bi-weekly on major podcast platforms, with the first three episodes available at https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/2442606.rss.
