‘Transcending Tradition’
runs through May 11
The Muskegon Museum of Art will host “Transcending Tradition: Selection of works from the Bennett Collection of Women Realists,” February 6 to May 11.
The Bennett Collection is a growing collection of figurative realist paintings by women artists founded by San Antonio art collectors Steven Alan Bennett and Dr. Elaine Melotti Schmidt.
This exhibition highlights work by both historical and contemporary women painters, such as Artemesia Gentileschi, Mary Cassatt, Elaine de Kooning, Andrea Kowch, Zoey Frank, Katie O’Hagan, and many more.
Carl Webb Band to perform May 8
The band has been together for 18 years, hailing from the Muskegon area. They play an eclectic mix of rock, blues, and country, ranging from The Beatles to Santana, Adele, John Mayer, Johnny Cash, and more.
