Assistant prosecuting attorney announces run for Wayne Circuit judge

Attorney Dana Margaret Hathaway officially entered the race for a non-incumbent Wayne County judicial seat by filing her petitions with the State of Michigan on Monday, March 5. Hathaway collected more than 6,000 signatures nearly two months before the filing deadline. Hathaway, with the assistance of numerous volunteers, was able to collect and file more signatures than any other challenger in her race. Hathaway is an assistant Wayne County prosecuting attorney who has worked on hundreds of criminal cases. Before joining the prosecutor's office, she was with a national civil law firm for seven years where she specialized in high-stakes litigation. "Dana is an extremely well-rounded attorney and her extensive civil and criminal court experience make her the best candidate in her race," said Wayne County Judge Milton Mack. "She is an obvious choice because of her experience in each of the circuit court dockets. She also brings to the court proven excellence and a commitment to serve with integrity." Hathaway practices in Wayne County courts daily. She is the daughter of Michigan Supreme Court Justice Diane Marie Hathaway and former Wayne Circuit Judge Richard Hathaway. She lives in Wayne County with her husband, Nicholas Bobak, and their two daughters. Hathaway is kicking off her campaign at a fundraiser Thursday, March 8, from 5:30-7:30, at the Atheneum Hotel. The event is a joint event with Judge Amy P. Hathaway. For further information regarding the fundraiser please contact (313)443-0194 or hathawayforjudge@gmail.com. Published: Mon, Mar 5, 2012
