The Third Circuit Court Civil, Criminal and Family Divisions will be closed May 28 in observance of Memorial Day.
The Wayne County Probate Court will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 28 and will reopen on Tuesday, May 29 at 8 a.m.
In observance of Memorial Day, the 36th District Court will be closed to the public on Monday, May 28. Only criminal arraignments will be conducted.
PALS to host general meeting May 23
The Polish American Legal Society will host a general meeting on Wednesday, May 23, beginning at 6 p.m. at PLAV Post #16, 25222 W. Warren in Dearborn Heights (1 mile west of Telegraph). In Seventh Heaven gala to be held June 30
“For The Seventh Generation’s” Fifth Annual Fundraising Gala will be held on Saturday, June, 30, at 7 p.m. at the Roostertail in Detroit. Two music venues inside and outside on the river will feature the Jill Jack Band and jazz ensemble Straight Ahead. A strolling supper, an open beer and wine bar, and special raffle prizes are planned.
The event benefits the For The Seventh Generation and its Play It Forward! program that provides music lessons for foster care children in collaboration with musicians and supporters of the arts. Event registration is $100 per person and event sponsorship is available at levels from $500 to $5,000.

Raising the Bar 2012: DMBA Annual Meeting to be held May 31
Join the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association for an evening of celebration and recognition as the association prepares to move into the new bar year. This year’s “Raising the Bar” event features plenty of time to mix and mingle in the historic atmosphere of Detroit’s Gem Theatre, as well as the presentation of this year’s awards and the installation of new officers and directors. $75 registration fee includes a strolling dinner and one drink ticket; a cash bar will be available throughout the evening.
