Pitt and Golden to present at national convention

Michael Pitt and Joseph Golden, of the Pitt, McGehee, Palmer, Rivers and Golden law firm, are scheduled to speak at the 2012 National Employment Lawyers Association annual convention in San Diego on June 21. The National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) is the country's largest professional organization exclusively comprised of lawyers who represent individual employees in cases involving employment discrimination and other employment-related matters. NELA and its 68 state and local affiliates have more than 3,000 members throughout the U.S. Pitt will speak on the topic "Retaliation in the Post-Employment Context." Pitt has specialized in employment law and civil rights litigation for over 30 years. He and his team of lawyers were widely acclaimed for their successful representation of women who had been sexually abused by guards in Michigan prisons. The Michigan Department of Corrections agreed to pay $100 million to resolve the claims of over 400 women. Golden will present a session titled "Top 10 Tips for the Next Generation of Plaintiffs' Employment Lawyers." Since 1980, he has lectured nationally on employee rights issues, especially wrongful discharge. In addition, he has served a two-year term as the president of NELA. Published: Mon, Jun 11, 2012
