Firm opens office in Metro Detroit

The Ayar Law Group, a boutique tax law firm serving all of Metropolitan Detroit and the greater southeastern Michigan community has opened its doors in Southfield. The firm’s founder, Venar Ayar, is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of San Diego School of Law. He has returned home to Michigan from California, leaving The Law Offices of Ronson J. Shamoun, A.P.C., San Diego’s foremost tax controversy law firm.

“I see a need in this marketplace for an honest, client-centered tax law practice because so many businesses are struggling and inevitably when they get behind on their taxes they reach out for help and get left high and dry by companies that overpromise and underserve. There are a lot of vultures in this business, preying on the weak in their hour of need. The Ayar Law Group offers an honest team at a reasonable price and we don’t make reckless promises we can’t keep,” said Ayar.

Ayar holds an LL.M. in taxation, the highest degree attainable for a tax attorney.

Attorneys are able to assist prospective clients with IRS and state tax disputes, including income, payroll, and sales tax; criminal tax defense, IRS and state tax audits; offers in compromise; wage garnishments and liens; payment plans; delinquent tax filings; innocent spouse claims; civil tax litigation; penalty abatement; and offshore banks and international tax.

“This is a unique profession, and there aren’t a lot of law firms offering what we do,” said Ayar. “Certified Public Accountants can offer some of the same services, but what sets the Ayar Law Group apart is that we can help you resolve your problems instead of merely handling your tax preparation and accounting — we focus on the controversy and work with our clients toward solutions. It makes all the difference in the world if you have attorneys who not only know the tax law but also how the IRS and state look at your file. Our clients are often afraid of the consequences and don’t want to do anything, but the worst thing you can do if up against the wall is to avoid the IRS or state, and that’s where we come in to help.”

The firm has opened its doors in Southfield, in the 2000 Town Center.
