Faber named to 61st District Court

 Gov. Rick Snyder announced on Monday the appointment of Jennifer L. Faber to the 61st District Court, in Grand Rapids.


“Through her practice in 61st District Court and throughout west Michigan Jennifer Faber has built a reputation as an excellent attorney with a deep commitment to the well-being of the Grand Rapids community,” Snyder said.

Faber has been a managing partner at Sherlund, Faber & Van Meter PLLC, in Grand Rapids since 2001. She previously was with the firm of Dilley, Dilley, Murkowski & Goller PLLC. Her current practice involves general litigation, including criminal law, family law and civil matters.

Faber is a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association and the Women Lawyers Association. She previously served as president of the Young Lawyers Section of the Grand Rapids Bar. Faber is a current board member of the St. Andrews School, Hugh Michael Beahan Foundation. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1994 and a degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1999.

Faber fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge J. Michael Christensen. She must seek election in November 2016 for a full six-year term.
