The 2014-15 bar year has been an exciting one for the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and its members.
On Tuesday, June 2, the DMBA celebrated these shared accomplishments of members of the Bench and Bar at its annual meeting and awards ceremony, "Raising the Bar 2015."
The awardees this year included:
- Chief Judge Robert Colombo, Jr. of the Third Circuit Court who received the DMBA President's Award for his leadership throughout the year, especially the highly successful Law Day at Third Circuit Court on May 7.
Colombo also joined Court of Appeals Judge Cynthia Stephens and Third Circuit Judge Timothy Kenny as the judicial panelists at the DMBA's February "Bench Bar Seminar."
The Bench Bar Planning Committee, led by Kerr Russell's Stephen McGraw, received the 2015 Committee of the Year Award.
Butzel Long received the 2015 Pro Bono Award for the firm's commitment to the Detroit Legal Services Clinic, a key community service activity for the DMBA and the DMBA Foundation.
