The State Bar of Michigan’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section along with the Labor &?Employment Law, Litigation, Probate &?Estate Planning, Real Property Law, and Young Lawyers sections presented “Mediation Advocacy:?Representing Clients in Mediation” on Thursday, June 29, at the DoubleTree Hilton in Novi. Speaking at the program were (l-r) Edward H. Pappas of Dickinson Wright PLLC; Earlene Baggett-Hayes of The Law and Mediation Center PLLC; mediator and arbitrator Michael Leib; Martin Wiesman of Weisman, Young, &?Ruemenapp PC; mediator and arbitrator Shel Stark; and Kathy Humphrey of Dykema Gossett PLLC.  The program took a look at “How Mediation Advocacy is Different from Traditional Zealous Advocacy: How to Make the Most of a Unique Process,” “Preparing Lawyers and Clients for Mediation: What it Takes to Get Truly Ready,” and “Mediation Advocacy at the Table: How to Achieve the Best Results Possible for Your Client.”
