WMU-Cooley Law School students Andrea Muroto Bilabaye and Daniela Mendez were honored with the Alumni Distinguished Student and Student Bar Association Leadership Achievement awards during the law school’s Lansing campus honors convocation on Friday, Nov. 10. During the convocation, students were recognized for their leadership roles with various student organizations, achieving academic excellence and being named to the Dean’s List or Honor Roll.
The Alumni Distinguished Service Award was presented to Muroto Bilabaye and Mendez for their academic accomplishments, demonstrated leadership, involvement in extra-curricular activities, and post-graduation plans. Additionally, the Student Bar Association’s Leadership Achievement Award was presented to the pair for providing consistent and comprehensive leadership in a variety of capacities during their time at WMU-Cooley.
Additional awards presented during the convocation included the Distinguished Student Award, the Fitzgerald Student Award, and the Robert E. Krinock Memorial Award.
The Distinguished Student Award was presented to Davia Lamey. The award acknowledges a student who has led by example and has shown outstanding dedication to the student body.
Faithful Talabi was presented with the Fitzgerald Student Award, which goes to a student who has shown a significant commitment toward the improvement of the school’s student organizations.
The Robert E. Krinock Memorial Award was presented to Lynn Mason. The Krinock award is given to a student who has risen above expectations and has proven extreme loyalty to the school, the student bar association, and the student body.
