Lunch and Learn

A Lunch &?Learn program on “Understanding Religious Land Use and the Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA) from Differing Perspectives” was conducted Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit. The lunch was sponsored by the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, the Federal Bar Association (National) Civil Rights Law Section, and the Anti-Defamation League. Taking part in the program were (l-r) U.S. District Court Judge Stephen J. Murphy III, Eastern District of Michigan; Tom Meagher of Foster Swift, Collins, &?Smith PC; Eric Treene, special counsel for religious discrimination, U.S. Dept. of Justice Civil Rights Division; Carolyn Normandin, regional director, Anti-Defamation League; program moderation U.S. Attorney Matthew Schneider, Eastern District of Michigan; and Rev. Stancy Adams, associate pastor, Russell Street Missionary Baptist Church.
