Sinas elected to SBM Board of Commissioners

Tom Sinas, a Grand Rapids auto accident attorney from the Sinas Dramis Law Firm, has been elected to co-commission District C of the Michigan State Bar. Sinas won a contested seat in this year’s Board of Commissioners elections. Sinas will co-commission the district alongside attorney E. Thomas McCarthy Jr. until their term concludes in 2022.

Sinas’s duties as a member of the board include strategic planning, such as budgeting and spending, public policy regulations and relations, and member servicers. District C includes the West Michigan counties: Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Newaygo, Kent, Osceola, Mecosta, Clare, Isabella, and Gladwin. District C is the only district that is commissioned by two attorneys.

Sinas has a long history of leadership during his legal career. He graduated from the University of Minnesota magna cum laude. After graduating, Sinas practiced at a national law firm in Minneapolis before returning home to Michigan in 2013. He opened the Sinas Dramis Grand Rapids office since his return. Sinas has served as a committee member at the Justice Foundation of West Michigan, a past president of the Legal Assistance Center, and a former trustee of the Grand Rapids Bar Association.

In addition to his service at the Michigan State Bar, Sinas will continue to serve on the board of directors at the Brain Injury Association of Michigan (BIAMI), and as an associate general counsel for the Coalition Protecting Auto No-Fault (CPAN).
