The State Bar of Michigan’s Labor and Employment Law Section (LELS) hosted its Mid-Winter Meeting, and Annual Meeting, on Friday, Jan. 24, at the Detroit Athletic Club. During the awards banquet at the end of the meeting, the section heard from guest speaker Jim Obergefell (front row, fourth from left) who discussed the monumental Supreme Court case Obergefell v Hodges. In addition, the section presented its Distinguished Service Award to Barry Goldman (front row, fifth from left). On hand to welcome Obergefell and congratulate Goldman were (front row, l-r) Heidi Sharp, LELS Vice Chair Michelle Crockett, Rhonda Truvillion, Gloria Hage, LELS Chair Jennifer Salvatore, Anne-Marie Vercruysse Welch, and Lindsay Poetz; (back) Adam Forman, Andrey Tomkiw, James Reid, LELS Secretary John Runyon, Tad Roumayah, and Sarah Prescott.
