‘Bar Night In: Game Night’ hosted by OCBA, Feb. 11

The Oakland County Bar Association will host “Bar Night In: Game Night” on Thursday, February 11, from 6:45 to 8 p.m. online via Zoom.

This new evening series features a different virtual adventure each month. From Drag Queen Bingo to a scavenger hunt to a night of improv with Go Comedy, participants will have a blast with fellow OCBA members all from the comfort of their own homes.

This month’s event will feature Game Night—a series of three different fun competitions. Attendees will be assigned into different breakout rooms to allow for better interaction and participation.

Check in and networking will begin at 6:45 p.m. Games will start promptly in the breakout rooms at 7 p.m.  The three games will include:

• Game 1 - Read My Lips: Participants in each breakout room will take turns being muted. The host will provide them with legal terminology via the chat function that they then need to repeat. The other players have to try to guess what the muted person is saying. The first person to guess receives points. Play rotates to the next participant until everyone has had a chance to be muted.

• Game 2 - Two Lies and One Truth: Each participant should come prepared to share three short stories about something crazy or unusual that they came across during their legal career. The stories should take a total of one minute or less to read. Two stories should be lies and one should be the truth. (No worries, no one is under oath.) After one participant shares the stories, the others will hold up a piece of paper with their guess of which one was the truth. Those who guess correctly get points. Play rotates to the next participant until everyone has had a chance to share their stories.

• Game 3 - Sketch Artist: Players will need some blank paper and a pen for this one. The host will name an item that each participant will need to draw within one minute. When time is called, players will hold up their drawings to share with others. Players will vote on whose drawing looks most like the item and whose looks the least like it. The highest vote getters in each category receives points.
(For those who can’t draw, don’t worry—it’s more fun that way!)

After the conclusion of the three games, participants will leave their break out rooms and reconvene in the main room. The host will announce the winners from each break out room who will each receive OCBA swag.

The event is free for OCBA members and non-members can attend for $10.

Details on how to join the Zoom event will be distributed in a separate email to those who pre-registered one to two days prior to the event. Anyone who does not get that information emailed and is interested in participating can contact the OCBA at 248-334-3400.

Space is limited. To register, visit www.ocba.org and click on “events.”
