Wayne County Family Court Bench & Bar Panel Discussion offered online

The Wayne County Family Court Bench & Bar Panel Discussion will take place online on Tuesday, May 11, from 3 to 4 p.m. via Zoom. 

Five Wayne County Circuit Court Family Division judges will discuss the future of the Family Division. Attendees will be able to give their thoughts about this virtual practice of law.  

Speaking at the program will be Judges Kathleen M. McCarthy, Charlene Elder,Melissa A. Cox, Carla Testani, and Lisa Neilson.  Co-moderating the discussion are Julia A. Perkins, partner, Varnum, and Lauren Wright Middleton, Wayne County referee.
Topics will include:

• State of Zoom Court.  Where do we reasonably foresee our future.

• What do the judges continue to see as problematic with Zoom and email filing procedures.

• New PPO procedures through Michigan Legal Help

• Friend of the Court updates.

• Court Clerk backlog.

• Questions/Answers and Concerns

Cost for the online event is $10.  To register, visit www.detroitlawyer.org/programs/bench-bar-0521.  Attendees do not have to be a Detroit Bar Association member to register.  A Zoom link will be provided with registration confirmation.  A recording will be available to registered attendees.
