The State Bar Board of Commissioners is seeking names of persons interested in filling the following commission vacancy:
Michigan Appellate Defender Commission—Two vacancies for four-year terms beginning in June 2011. Members of this statewide, seven-person Commission are nominated by the State Bar and various courts and appointed by the Governor. The Commission sets policy for the State Appellate Defender Office and the Michigan Appellate Assigned Counsel System, hires the directors, and reviews and adopts regulations for assigning appellate counsel. The Commission meets quarterly.
Deadline for responses is May 25, 2011.
