As Students of the Month, each honoree received a $75.00 U.S. Savings Bond, trophy, certificate, and will be invited to shadow Judge Marable for a day at the Court while he performs his official duties. The honorees names will be engraved on a plaque displayed at the 68th District Courthouse.

The Judge Marable Student of the Month/Year program was established by Judge Marable and his Citizens Advisory Committee in 2004 to encourage Flint area high school students to focus on academic achievement and career goals. Each month during the school year a 10th grade student will be recognized and awarded a $75.00 savings bond, trophy, and certificate based on the completion of an application and essay about their career goals. This summer one of the monthly awardees from the 2010-2011 school year will be selected as Judge Marable’s Student of the Year and will receive a $500.00 savings bond.

Tenth grade students who are Genesee County residents, or who attend public, charter, or private schools located in Flint or Genesee County are eligible to apply for the Judge Marable Student of the Month/Year Award.
