New Plunkett Cooney attorney handles motor vehicle negligence claims

Kimberly K. Seibert, an attorney who focuses her practice in the areas of motor vehicle negligence and no-fault law, recently joined Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest law firms, as a member of the firm’s Insurance Law Practice Group.

“Kim is an asset to the firm’s motor vehicle negligence team,” said Robert G. Kamenec, Plunkett Cooney’s Insurance & Professional Liability Department Leader. “She has shown great skill and drive when handling claims on behalf of insurers and self-insurers.“

A member of the firm’s Detroit office, Seibert also gained experience in the areas of premises liability, employment discrimination, governmental immunity, search and seizure, labor law, arbitration and constitutional litigation while working as an administrative and appellate research clerk of the firm. She also worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Matthew S. Switalski in the Macomb County Circuit Court prior to joining Plunkett Cooney.

Admitted to practice in Michigan’s state and federal courts, Seibert is a member of the Women’s Bar Association- Oakland Region of WLAM, Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, the Oakland County, Macomb County and Federal bar associations and the State Bar of Michigan.

Seibert received her law degree from Wayne State University Law School in 2011 where she received the Bronze Key Certificate. She received her undergraduate degree from University of Michigan in 2008.

The members of Plunkett Cooney’s Insurance Law Practice Group represent national and international insurance carriers in coverage disputes and regulatory proceedings. They provide case specific legal opinions and counsel insurance professionals on new product development, risk mitigation and claims management. Members of the Insurance Practice Group have served as national and regional trial counsel for insurance carriers in landmark class actions and litigation involving breast implants, environmental issues, asbestos exposure, construction claims and pharmaceutical liability.
