JANUARY 17, 2012: Ask The Lawyer, Grand Rapids Public Library, Downtown Branch, 111 Library St. NE, 6:30-7:30 p.m. In an effort to bring basic information on various areas of law to the public, the Grand Rapids Bar Association has teamed with the Grand Rapids Public Library to present five “Ask the Lawyer” programs. MARCH 15-17, 2012: State Bar of Michigan (SBM) Real Property Law Section Winter Conference,
Orlando FL -- “Redevelopment After the Great Recession, Lessons from the Sunshine & Great Lakes States,” at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Universal Orlando Resort. Such topics as “Ghost Towns and Zoning Overhauls: Local Government Strategies for New Master Planning and Rezoning,” “Florida Snowbirds and Retirees: Issues Facing the Out of State Buyer,” and “Everything You Need to Know about the Michigan Construction Lien.” Before 1/15/12, registration fee is $395 for Real Property section members, $345 for section members attending for the first time, $475 for non-section members.
