Foster Swift elects new shareholders, employee benefits leader


Laura Genovich and Liza Moore were elected shareholders of Foster Swift Collins and Smith.

Genovich practices bankruptcy law, municipal law, and trial-level and appellate litigation in the firm's Grand Rapids office. In the area of bankruptcy, Genovich serves as a Chapter 7 (liquidation) trustee and as a Chapter 12 (farm and family fishermen) trustee for the Western District of Michigan, and she chairs the Bankruptcy Section of the Federal Bar Association (Western District).
Genovich also represents cities, townships, and villages in a wide range of litigation and transactional matters. She joined the firm in 2008 after graduating from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, summa cum laude.

Liza Moore is a litigation attorney in the firm’s Lansing office. Her civil litigation practice involves team representation of cities, villages, townships, schools, businesses, insurance companies, agribusinesses, farms and individuals. Moore also leads Foster Swift’s Agricultural Law team, and was instrumental n starting the State Bar of Michigan Agricultural Law Section. She graduated from Indiana University School of Law – Bloomington, cum laude.

In addition, Attorney Mindi Johnson, of the firm's Grand Rapids office, has been selected to lead the employee benefits practice.

Johnson focuses her practice in employee benefits law and health care law.  Johnson has spoken and written extensively on those topics, and is actively involved in a number of legal, professional and industry organizations focused on these issues. She received her undergraduate degree at Calvin College, and her Juris Doctorate cum laude from St. Louis University School of Law.
