WMU-Cooley student organization donates school supplies to academy

The Business, Entrepreneurial and Tax Law Association of Western Michigan University Cooley Law School’s Grand Rapids campus recently organized a donation drive to provide essential school supplies to local students in need. Over the month of July, the law school students collected hundreds of items for Vista Charter Academy, a free public charter school serving students in young fives through eighth grade.

Vista, located on 32nd Street S.E.,  focuses on making children “good people” and has a monthly focus on different attributes: wisdom, respect, gratitude, self-control, perseverance, courage, encouragement, compassion and integrity.

“We held the school supply drive to help bridge the gap between what families can afford and what students need,” said Meagan Jones, president of the Business, Entrepreneurial and Tax Law Association. “We hope that the supplies donated will help the students of Vista Charter Academy achieve their academic goals.”
