John Bursch recognized by  Best Lawyers in three categories

The Best Lawyers in America, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, has selected Bursch Law owner John J. Bursch for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2018 in (1) Appellate Litigation, (2) Bet-the-Company Litigation, and (3) Commercial Litigation.

Corporate Counsel magazine called Best Lawyers “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.”

John Bursch founded Bursch Law PLLC in 2016. He represents Fortune 500 companies, foreign and domestic governments, top public officials, and industry associations in high profile cases, primarily on appeal. Bursch recently argued and won his 11th U.S. Supreme Court case since 2011, more than all but a handful of attorneys across the U.S. He has argued 26 Michigan Supreme Court cases, including multiple arguments in seven consecutive terms, five in the 2016-17 term alone.

A recent study found that, over the past four terms, Bursch was one of the most successful attorneys in the country at persuading the U.S. Supreme Court to grant petitions for certiorari. He has also compiled a Supreme Court merits record that the National Law Journal observed “even more veteran high court advocates would envy.” Bursch’s cases have involved many of the most important public-policy issues of the past decade.

Bursch is one of only 7 Michigan lawyers inducted into the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, and one of only 62 Michigan attorneys serving as a Member of the American Law Institute.
