Two local Bodman attorneys named to ‘Top Lawyers’

Bodman attorneys Brian E. Kersey and Lindsay M. Cummings, both from the firm’s Grand Rapids office, were selected for the 2020 “Top Lawyers” list published in the December 2020 issue of Grand Rapids Magazine.

Kersey is listed in the category of Banking and Financial Services.  A former banker, he focuses his practice on commercial finance and aviation law.

His commercial finance practice includes extensive experience representing both lenders and borrowers in syndicated loan facilities, secured and unsecured term loans, and revolving credit facilities, real estate and construction lending.

His aviation law practice encompasses purchase and sale transactions, regulatory compliance, risk management, tax planning, Part 91 and Part 135 operations, and management and leasing arrangements for both aircraft and hangar space.

He has extensive experience in international aviation purchases and sales.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School, Kersey earned an M.B.A. with honors from Indiana University and a B.B.A. from Central Michigan University.

Cummings is listed in the category of Trusts and Estates.

She represents individuals in connection with estate planning and estate administration matters including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, guardianships, conservatorships, and trust and probate administration.

 She has served as an adjunct professor with WMU-Cooley Law School, teaching contracts and estate planning.

Cummings is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Law and earned her undergraduate degree at Albion College.

She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (Probate & Estate Planning Section), the Grand Rapids Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
