Reid named as exective director at Varnum

Patrick J. Reid has joined Varnum LLP as executive director, and will lead the administrative staff and work closely with the firm’s Policy and Executive committees. He will be based in the Grand Rapids office.

Reid has served as a senior executive for a variety of professional service organizations for more than 25 years. He has a strong focus on leadership and fiscal capabilities, with experience including human resource oversight, IT infrastructure management, financial reporting/analytics, compliance issues and strategic planning.

In addition to operations management, he has led and managed mergers, divestitures, and acquisitions of professional organizations throughout his career while serving as CFO and CEO at such organizations.

Reid holds a Masters of Accountancy/Tax from the University of Tennessee, where he also received his undergraduate degree in accounting. In college, he served as co-captain of the track and field team and earned All-American and All-SEC Honors.
 
 

Buday named managing partner at Miller Johnson
 

David M. Buday has been elected Managing Member at Miller Johnson, joining Robert D. Wolford in leading the 100-attorney full service firm. Buday will serve a 3-year term.

He will be responsible for the business functions of the firm, including chairing the Management Committee and overseeing long-term professional and operational interests of the firm’s offices in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Detroit.

Buday succeeds Craig H. Lubben, who has returned to his Kalamazoo-based litigation practice after three years as Managing Member.
