Local attorney Donald B. Lawrence died Dec. 27, 2015, at the age of 72.
A Detroit native, Lawrence earned his undergrad degree in political science from Michigan State University and his J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School.
He practiced law since 1968 and was a longtime partner with the Hubbard Law Firm in Lansing, where he worked for over three decades.
He specialized in business, tax and estate planning, and financial consultations.
Lawrence was a member of the State Bar of Michigan and American Bar Association, and a Life Member of the Commercial Law League of America.
He was an active Trustee for the John and Elizabeth Whiteley Foundation that assists human services and education, including education scholarship awards to students in Ingham, Eaton or Clinton counties; a founding member of the Delta Side Business Association; a member of Delta Governmental Affairs Committee; a 30-year board member of various local credit unions; a former member of Rotary; and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lansing.
