Western Michigan University Cooley Law Review will host its annual symposium 2 to 3:30 p.m., March 29, at the WMU-Cooley Law School Lansing campus lobby, 300 South Capitol Avenue, Lansing, MI 48933. The event is open to the public.
This year’s panel discussion, “The Changing Face of Title IX: An Eye on Gender Discrimination,” features panelists Charyn Hain, Varnum Attorneys at Law; Donald Lawless, Barnes & Thornburg LLC; and Karen Truszkowski, Temperance Legal Group LLC.
Title IX of the Education Amendment Act of 1972 is a Federal Law that states, “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
The public is invited to hear panelists discuss what the changes could mean, and how to understand rights, responsibilities, and resources regarding gender discrimination.
Reservations are required at lawreview@cooley.edu.
