David Otis named to ‘Super Lawyers’

Michigan Super Lawyers magazine recently named 13 attorneys from Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest law firms, to its 2020 list of “Super Lawyers.”

The list includes East Lansing office member and partner David K. Otis – Government. Otis, who earned his undergrad degree, with honors, from Michigan State University, and his JD, with honors, from WMU-Cooley Law School, practices municipal law and litigation.

He is a member of the Ingham County Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan (Public Corporation, Real Property and Corporations, Finance and Business Law sections)

American Bar Association (Business Law and Administrative Law sections) and DRI - The Voice of the Defense Bar.

Varnum attorney named to State Bar of Michigan Business Law Section Council

Varnum attorney Shanna M. Kaminski has been named to the State Bar of Michigan Business Law Section Council. She will serve a three-year term overseeing the Business Law Section of the State Bar.

Kaminski and the other council members were officially elected at the Business Law Section: Annual Meeting and Council Meeting Teleconference held via Skype on Oct. 1.

Kaminski is a member of Varnum’s Litigation and Trial Practice Team and Banking, Finance and Restructuring Practice Team.

In addition, she specializes in business litigation, representing businesses and individuals in complex business disputes, including shareholder and partnership disputes, breach of contract disputes, supply chain disputes and business torts. She has tried several matters in both state and federal courts, including bankruptcy court, and also has arbitration experience.
 

Gallagher included in ‘Best Lawyers’

Byron P. (Pat) Gallagher, Jr., an attorney with the Gallagher Law Firm in East Lansing, has been selected for inclusion in the 27th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America.

Gallagher, who has practiced law in Lansing since 1989 and has served as president of the Ingham County Bar Association, focuses on business, real estate, probate and estate law.

An alumnus of Kenyon College, and of Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, Gallagher has litigated cases throughout Michigan before the American Arbitration Association, State and Federal Courts, Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals. 

Gallagher also is a working participant in several significant business ventures involving real estate and banking.
