Never Forgotten

Jackson City Police Chief Matt Heins lights the first candle in honor of Jackson Police Officer James Bonneau, killed in the line of duty in 2010 at the age of 26. Looking on are Victims Rights Coordinator Sue Vogt and Larry Mentink, whose son, James, was shot to death in 1989. The occasion was the Annual Victims’ Rights Tribute and Candle Lighting Ceremony held April 22 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Jackson. About 150 attended the vigil, where friends and family lit candles in remembrance of their loved ones.
