National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day set April 29

The Michigan State Police is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration and other law enforcement agencies for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29.

Jackson residents can drop off expired, unused and unwanted medications for destruction at the Jackson Post, 3401 Cooper St. No liquids, inhalers, patches, or syringes will be accepted

Studies show a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from home medicine cabinets.

Flushing medicines down the toilet or throwing them in the trash both pose potential safety and health hazards.

Residents unable to participate on April 29 can anonymously surrender prescription drugs at any MSP post from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
