Gun Buyback

The third gun buyback of the year brought in 29 weapons, mostly handguns, and brought the total number of weapons removed from Jackson streets this year to 57.The nonprofit Save Our Youth organization gave out $2,850 worth of $50 gift cards, helped by $2,250 awarded to SOY from the Human Service Coordinating Alliance (HSCA). Jackson Police Department Reserve Sergeant Tim Dean (left) and Detective Brett Stiles took in the weapons.
