In Memoriam: Mark Hashley

Jackson attorney Mark Howard Hashley, born October 8, 1956, died May 27 after battling Covid-19 for over a month.

After graduating from Northwest High School in 1974, Hashley served four years in the U.S. Armed Forces. He continued his military career in the U.S. Army National Guard, achieving the status of Captain before retiring in 1997.

While serving, he also worked for Industrial Steel Treating for 21 years and attended Davenport College earning a bachelor's degree in Business Management.

In his early 40s, he decided to pursue a law degree, graduating from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2001.

He became a member of the State Bar of Michigan in 2002 and was a member of the Jackson County Bar Association.

Hashley is survived by his wife, parents, sisters, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to the Eaton County Humane Society.
