Region 2 Area Agency on Aging announces its 3rd Annual Safe Haven Benefit will be held at 4 p.m. on June 17 during World Elder Abuse Prevention Week. Due to COVID-19, the event will be held virtually via Zoom.
Guest speakers will include Ron Tatro from Elder Law of Michigan and Michigan House Representative Bronna Kahle.
Safe Haven’s mission is to protect older adults and adults with disabilities from abuse, neglect and financial exploitation. Donations help provide such services as temporary emergency shelter, food, clothing, emergency financial assistance, and move-in costs for permanent housing. Safe Haven has served 99 participants since 2017.
Donations can be made at www.r2aaa.net; indicate your donation is for Safe Haven in the comment box.
Register in advance for the June 17 virtual event at www.r2aaa.net and click the Safe Haven Benefit banner at the top of the page.
