Gay rights advocate Chai Feldblum (second from left), the first openly lesbian commissioner of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, recently delivered the 28th Annual I. Goodman Cohen Lecture in Trial Advocacy at Wayne State University Law School. She spoke on “Achieving Social Change: Lessons from Disability and LGBT Rights.”  Welcoming Feldblum to Wayne Law were (left to right) Wayne Law Prof. Robert Sedler, Wayne Law Dean Robert Ackerman and Dennis Cohen. “I’m going to be talking about how we can achieve real social change in this country using aspects of law, policies, and social norms,” noted Feldblum.  The I. Goodman Cohen Lecture in Trial Advocacy was established in honor of the late I. Goodman Cohen, a trial attorney who was active in the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association. Each year, a leading jurist is invited to the Law School to deliver a public lecture on an aspect of trial advocacy.
