Speakers address tax issues facing solo, small firms

The Solo and Small Firm Section of the State Bar of Michigan held a program recently to provide a look at changes brought about by recent tax legislation. The event,  entitled “Tax Issues for Solo &?Small Firms,” was held at the Auburn Hills campus of Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. Speakers included (left to right) Ryan M. Mardini, senior tax consultant within the Business Tax Services Department of Deloitte Tax LLP; WMU-Cooley Prof. Dan Sheaffer who previously served as corporate tax counsel for Alticor Corp.; George W. Gregory of George W. Gregory PLLC; and Paul K. Marineau of UHY Advisors MI Inc and professor emeritus at WMU-Cooley. “We are talking on a variety of tax topics which we think would be of interest to solo and small practitioners,” Gregory said.
